What to Expect-First Visit

What to expect at your first visit:

Location & Parking

Our Hagerstown office is located in a Victorian house across from City Park, next to the Animal Hospital on Park Circle at 370 Virginia Avenue. Park on Surrey Street or in the paved parking lot behind the house. There is a wrap around porch, please enter on the Surrey Street side. The door has a stained glass sign that says City Park Psychological Services and a sign that says Entrance for City Park. We are not using the front door on Virginia.

The Frederick office is located next to Mick's (formerly Jennifer's) on West Patrick Street. There is metered street parking 9-5 or you may park next to Baker Park on Carroll Pkwy (free parking for 2 hours). Please enter through the 211 West Patrick Street green double doors. The waiting room door is the second door on your right once you enter the hallway.

The Waiting Room

When you enter our waiting room, you will see a table with a clipboard. If you have not yet completed the Forms , come 15 minutes early to complete the paperwork on that clipboard. Please complete both sides of the client information sheet, the credit card form, and read the contract and HIPPA information and sign the last two pages of the contract.

Payment & Next Appointment

Payment is expected at the time services are rendered and will be collected at the beginning of each session. We accept cash, check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard and Discover Cards and do not participate with insurances). If you are paying by check, please have your checks made out in advance, payable to Lou A. Lichti, Ph.D. You will also be asked to complete the credit card form which will simplify payment in the event of a missed appointment without notice of cancellation, as well as the occasions where an appointment is cancelled without 24 hour advanced notice. This ensures that your payments will always be up-to-date and will be made in a timely manner.

At the close of the session we will schedule another appointment time if you have decided to return.

You will want to have your schedule or planner along to make this easier.

You may also be given a card with an appointment time.

In an effort to protect the environment, please let us know if you would like a receipt in the form of a Superbill or statement of services rendered that may be submitted for insurance reimbursement or tax purposes. We sill gladly email pdf statements to you with your permission and you may request statements at any time.

Leaving

Our offices have back doors so that you do not have to go back through the waiting room.

This is to aide in your confidentiality and those who might be waiting.
